Derwentwater Designs Cross Stitch kits are produced in the beautiful English Lake District. The interest from fellow keen embroiderers for the cross stitch projects that Rose Swalwell produced largely for her own amusement became so great, that in the mid eighties she founded Derwentwater Designs to manufacture and later distribute complete embroidery kits commercially.
Although many of the Derwentwater Designs cross stitch kits are still designed by Rose, the work of other talented designers is also used - such as Jean Coats who is responsible for their longstitch collection.
