Withdrawn Shade Equivalents
These are the discontinued DMC stranded cotton thread colours, along with their shade descriptions. The first table shows the solid shades which were discontinued because their tone was so close to an existing colour in the DMC range. These existing colours have now been double numbered, with the number of the withdrawn shade also in small print on the skeins.

DMC Metallic Threads New Shade Numbers With the introduction of the new DMC "Light Effects" range, the DMC metallic thread colours were renumbered as shown in the table below. The old shade number still appears on the skeins in small print, under the new number.
The new Light Effects threads have the same numbers as DMC stranded cottons, but with an "E" prefix. So for example, Light Effects shade 211 will match stranded cotton shade 211.
