Cross Stitch Size Guide for Stitching on Evenweave Fabric over 2 Threads


Most evenweave fabrics are stitched over 2 fabric threads. In other words, you miss a hole and stitch into every second hole on the fabric.

This size guide shows how big your completed cross stitch will be on the most commonly used evenweave fabrics.

For example, you can read from the table that a piece 30 stitches x 40 stitches, when stitched over 2 threads of the 25 count evenweave fabric, will measure 2.4 inches x 3.2 inches.

Please remember that you will need at least an extra 2.5 inches of blank evenweave fabric all around the design for stretching and framing your completed cross stitch. So you will need to add at least 5 inches to each dimension.
