Free Cross Stitch Christmas Pattern

Christmas Memento is our our free Christmas cross stitch pattern which you can print out for your personal use. We stitched it on white 14 count aida fabric, using two strands of Anchor stranded cotton for the cross stitch.

Each part of this pattern can be worked separately to make attractive little Christmas ornaments, which look good in little gilt frames. They are also good for practising fractional stitches and backstitch.

Free Christmas Cross Stitch Pattern

You will need the following for this design:

14 count white aida fabric, size 7 x 5.5" (18 x 14cm).

A size 24 tapestry needle.

Anchor stranded cotton, in shades 1, 936, 47, 291, 228, 226 and 403.

Christmas Cross Stitch Colour Key

This free Christmas cross stitch pattern was stitched with Anchor stranded cotton. The shades used are shown in the pattern key on the left, along with the shade numbers. All of the cross stitch and backstitch is worked with 2 strands.

Dark green (shade 228) is used for the Christmas tree, and light green (226) as a contrast on the holly leaves, which are outlined in black (403) backstitch.

Red (47) is used for the Christmas candle, the tub for the Christmas tree and the Christmas stocking.

The top half of the Christmas pudding is stitched in white (1). The bottom half is stitched in brown (936) which is also used to backstitch the outline of the pudding.

The Finished Christmas Cross Stitch

This is how our free Christmas Mementos cross stitch pattern looked when stitched.

It can either be placed in a small frame or made into a greetings card, as shown on the right. We mounted it in an 8" x 6" card, using small pieces of double-sided adhesive tape around the aperture, to attach the finished cross stitch to the card.
