Free Cross Stitch Christmas Tree Pattern

This little free Christmas tree pattern is stitched on 14 count white aida fabric with two strands of Anchor stranded cotton for the cross stitch and back stitch. It looks good as a seasonal ornament in a little gilt frame. You will need a piece of 14 count aida (size 4 inches square), a size 24 tapestry needle and Anchor stranded cotton in shades 47, 291 and 228.

Christmas Tree Cross Stitch Colour Key

The key on the left shows the colours of Anchor stranded cotton used, along with their shade numbers. All of the cross stitch and backstitch is worked with 2 strands.

Dark green (shade 228) is used for the Christmas tree, and red (47) for the tub. The baubles decorating the tree are red and yellow (291). Yellow backstitch is used for the star and for hanging the baubles, and a little dark green to give the shape to the top of the tree.
