Tapestry Kits from Margot

A series of needlepoint kits featuing scenes, florals and medieval designs, including the "Lady and the Unicorn" series, based on the famous Cluny tapestries.

These Cluny tapestries are particularly fine examples of the textile art of the middle ages. They describe the senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. They are on display in the Musee de Cluny in Paris. It is well worth a visit to see them if you are visiting Paris. The Cluny Metro station is nearby.

Margot canvases are produced by one of the world's oldest producers of needlepoint tapestry - Creations Margot de Paris.

All our Margot canvases are worked on double thread antique canvas, and are suppied with the recommended tapestry wools to work the design in half cross stitch.

It is recommended to use a tapestry frame, as the action of making the diagonal stitch tends to pull the canvas into a 'diamond' shape, if the canvas is not restrained.
